Mykola Tomenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that pursuant to the legislation, there are supposed to be only one opposition and one oppositional Government in Ukraine.
Giving answers to the journalists questions regarding the possible formation of the several opposition formed out of the certain political powers, M. Tomenko cited Chapter 13 of the Law of Ukraine "On Standing Orders of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine" pursuant to which only one faction that during its sitting decided to conduct the oppositional activity, adopts a relevant resolution and announces it from the Parliamentary tribune and only in such a case one may suppose the faction to be in opposition.
M. Tomenko emphasized that there is no Parliamentary faction for the present moment, except YTB, that had adopted the decision to commence the oppositional activity. "Since YTB has adopted such a decision and Our Ukraine People´s Self-Defence continues negotiation on the new coalition formation and receiving places in the government, it is obvious that except YTB no one possesses the right to form the oppositional government and proclaimed itself as an opposition", - he emphasized.
Giving comments regarding the declarations of Arsenii Yatseniuk and Viktor Yushchenko on the possibility of the formation of oppositional governments, M. Tomenko emphasized that "until they write letters to the President and held the meetings with him, it is hard to consider them as an opposition. It is impossible to go in opposition in the morning but in afternoon go and ask the Prime Minister´s office."
The Deputy Chairman deems the present dignitaries are going to form "correct", controlled coalition.
